APD investigating ‘possible overdose’ near Alexandria Zoo

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a “possible overdose” near the Alexandria Zoo. News Channel 5 received a tip about police presence Wednesday morning shortly before 8 a.m. at Gilbert Street and Masonic Drive, in the picnic area across the street from the tennis courts, which are located at the former Boys and Girls Club location, which is now called the Alexandria Youth & Teen Center (1801 Sylvester Street).

UPDATE: Man Arrested After Causing Closure Along I-94 in Alexandria

UPDATE: A man is in custody after causing a major delay along I-94 Wednesday morning. At 5:38 am, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a report of a suspicious person in a vehicle at Paul's Pump and Pantry in the City of Osakis. While a Douglas County Deputy responded to the report he was advised the vehicle left traveling westbound. The Deputy located the vehicle at Brothers Market in the City of Osakis and while making contact with the occupants a female passenger fled on foot. The vehicle, a 2006 gray Chevrolet Cobalt driven by 30-year-old Dakota Kalob Medicine fled from the scene.
