Exactly when and where the next wave of smoke will hit the SF Bay Area

The Bay Area has enjoyed a few days marked by mostly good air quality. That could change Friday. "Smoke should stay east of the Bay Area on Thursday but as dry north winds develop by Friday, smoke from the Dixie and Monument fires will likely drift southward over the Bay Area on Friday," the National Weather Service said on Twitter early Thursday.

Smoky air quality this weekend, storms ahead

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4) – Happy weekend! We have a dry weekend ahead for the state, but we will battle some bad air for the weekend!. Westerly winds continue to billow thicker plumes of smoke from California into Utah. We have visible impacts throughout Northern and Central Utah, with hazy skies on the Eastern and Southern borders of the state. Thicker concentrations of smoke will fluctuate statewide throughout the weekend and some areas like Cache Valley could see some brief clearing before smoke-filled skies return.

SLO County Air Pollution Control District works to expand local air quality monitoring

The San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District (APCD) is asking for the public’s help in expanding its air quality monitoring on the Central Coast. The APCD manages and operates regulatory monitors across the county to track air quality. The county also has a number of PurpleAir particulate matter sensors across the Central Coast that contribute to air quality tracking.

CDPHE issues Air Quality Health Advisory for wildfire smoke

COLORADO — The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has issued an Air Quality Health Advisory for Wildfire Smoke for north-central and northwestern Colorado. Affected areas include Moffat, Routt, Jackson, Rio Blanco, and Garfield Counties. Locations include, but are not limited to Craig, Steamboat Springs, Walden, Meeker, Rifle, and Glenwood Springs.

Fire: The Dixie Fire is now 756,768 acres, an increase of 6,096 acres since yesterday, with 48% Containment. Active fire behavior and smoke production remains predominantly on the northern and southeastern perimeters of the Dixie Fire.
