Springfield Police investigating after man shot on Dawes Street

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A man who was shot on Dawes Street in Springfield Friday afternoon is expected to survive, according to police. Officers from the Springfield Police Department located the man with gunshot wounds after responding to a ShotSpotter activation on Dawes Street at 3:15 p.m. His injuries are described as non-life-threatening.

Byram police arrest three for lying about ‘free car’ sign after man’s body found in trunk

BYRAM, Miss. (WJTV) – Byram police arrested three suspects in connection to the death of Anthony McCrillis, whose body was found inside a trunk of a car in Copiah County. Investigators said during the interviews of two persons of interest, they determined the statement given to Copiah County deputies about a visible “free car” sign on the victim’s vehicle were fake. Police said the statements were given by the persons of interest to avoid being arrested for auto theft.

Major Case Squad activated after man severely beaten in Belleville

BELLEVILLE, Ill. ( -- The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis was activated in Belleville Thursday. Officials say a person went to check on their relative in the 9100 block of Concordia Church Road. The person found the male relative suffering from injuries of an aggravated battery. The man was taken to a hospital alive but due to the severity of his injuries, the Major Case Squad was activated to investigate.

After man makes threats to Emporia Police, arrested while naked, wielding knife

EMPORIA, Kan. (WIBW) - After threats were made to Emporia Police Officers on Saturday evening, he was arrested while naked and wielding a knife on Thursday afternoon. The Emporia Police Department says around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, Emporia State University Police responded to reports of a man that exposed himself while waving around a large knife. He was not located at that time.

PITTSBURGH — The Rabbi of Shaare Torah is speaking out after Pittsburgh police arrested a man who is accused of verbally assaulting people in Squirrel Hill near the temple. "When someone came in for services in the morning, he was shaking like a leaf. He said that someone went past him, threw him into a car and said some things that I will not repeat on camera," Rabbi Daniel Wasserman said.
