Vaccine deadline extended for state employees in congregate care settings

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Certain Illinois state employees now have more time to get vaccinated. Workers in congregate care settings previously had a deadline of Thursday to get their first shot of a COVID-19 vaccine. However, most state employees in prisons and Illinois veterans’ homes have another two weeks to get their first shots as union negotiations continue.
