Walmart to sell its e-commerce technologies to other retailers

The technologies will be made available to both Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source customers, Adobe says. The deal will allow Walmart to potentially reach thousands of small to mid-sized retailers, who will effectively be able to tap into the same tools that one of the largest global retailers is using to run their business.

The rural teacher who has never held political office before was sworn in less than two weeks after he was declared the winner of the June 6 runoff election. He is Peru’s first president of peasant origin.

Walmart to Make Its E-Commerce Tech Available to Other Retailers

Walmart is partnering with Adobe to make the Bentonville, Ark.-based retailer's e-commerce technologies available to other retailers. In a move to position itself as a friend to small retailers—especially those built, like Walmart was, as brick-and-mortar businesses—Walmart will offer, via the Adobe Commerce platform, access to its fulfillment technologies to help other retailers better manage their digital operations. That means, for example, providing real-time inventory data across store locations to let retailers show online shoppers their options for order pickup locations and times. Businesses using the Adobe Commerce platform also will be able to syndicate their online offerings through the Walmart Marketplace and, in doing so, offer two-day shipping nationwide.

Walmart Links Up With Adobe in E-commerce Tech Business Push

Walmart is parlaying its tech push into yet another avenue of business. The retailer said Wednesday that it will start offering cloud services and a number of other technologies to retailers operating on software company Adobe’s e-commerce platform. In doing so, the retailer said it is entering a “strategic partnership” with Adobe in order to connect Adobe Commerce, its tech business, with Walmart’s own marketplace platform and other e-commerce resources.
