Photos Show Site Prep for Obama Presidential Center in Hyde Park

Site prep can be seen progressing for the Obama Presidential Center, a three-building masterplan by The Obama Foundation now underway in Hyde Park. The project will occupy a portion of Jackson Park’s western edge, and will be oriented around a central plaza space that will accommodate planned events and public artwork. Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects and Interactive Design Architects will serve are the architects involved in the building design, while Michael van Valkenburgh Associates, Site Design Group, and Living Habitats have overseen the landscape architecture.

The Biggest Bank Robbery in Michigan History

It was Michigan's biggest bank robbery. It did not take place during the Roaring 20’s, Prohibition, or even the 1800s. It took place in late summer 1991. A new movie had just premiered across the country, “Point Break” starring Patrick Swayze about a group of guys who heist a bank, hiding their identities by wearing Halloween masks of United States presidents.

Today, a group of advisers to the Food and Drug Administration voted to reject a plan from the White House to approve vaccine boosters for most Americans. That was followed up by a vote to approve boosters for people who are at serious risk of coronavirus disease or over the age of 65. We’ll talk about what makes the discussion around boosters so complicated. We’ll also talk about the Pentagon’s acknowledgment of a drone strike gone very wrong. Finally, we wrap up the show with a round of our favorite game, Half Full/Half Empty.
