Serious crash causes massive rush hour traffic jam along I-490 East

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A crash along I-490 East near Pittsford caused a massive traffic jam lasting well into rush hour Monday. The crash was reported around 3:00 p.m. According to New York State Police, the driver of a sedan fell asleep and side swiped a pickup truck. The sedan flipped onto its hood and the driver was ejected. That person was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with unspecified injuries.

A man is facing charges for setting fire to a public school in the Hudson Valley. On Friday, New York State Police out of the Monroe Barracks arrested 40-year-old Yoel Einhorn from the village of Kiryas Joel for third-degree arson, third-degree burglary, both felonies, and possession of burglar tools, a misdemeanor.

MANLIUS N.Y. — Town of Manlius police closed part of a road as they investigated a deadly crash Monday. Police said Richmond Rd. East between Fremont Rd and Kendall Dr. East closed after a crash involving two people. We're told police arrived on the scene just before three Monday afternoon and found one person in the vehicle dead. The other was taken to the hospital for treatment.

MANLIUS, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — One person is dead, and another is injured after a single car crash in Manlius Monday afternoon. According to Manlius Police, the driver, Donald Reals, age 75 of Syracuse, was driving his 2017 Corvette when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The passenger, Gregory Damon, 71 of Syracuse was pronounced dead at the scene.
