BTI donation a boost for Sunburst

Many are aware that Ben Taylor, Inc. (BTI) has been bought out by another corporation. In the end, the process was a bit more complicated than that. BTI was being bought by City Service out of Kalispell, but then City Service and BTI both ended up being bought on the same day by Seattle-based Salt Chuck.

Toole County Extension and the City of Shelby will be hosting a Fall Tree Care Workshop in Shelby on Oct. 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Marias River Electric Conference Room. Cascade County Extension Agent, Rose Malisani, will be presenting about shelterbelts and their care. Toole County Extension Agent, Kim Woodring, will be presenting about fall tree care basics.

The start of a new school year can be hectic for all types of families, but it is especially challenging for children in the child welfare system. County approves courthouse repairs, hires new DES director

The Glacier County Commissioners began their Sept. 1 meeting by approving $78,500 to Five Star Construction to replace the remaining unrepaired portions of the courthouse roof in Cut Bank. All three commissioners voted in favor after learning their insurance only covered damage to the courthouse interior because the roof was too old. Around $72,000 came from that source and paid for repairs to the District Court and other damaged interior areas.

Sign erected at Marias Healthcare Clinic's new site

The new location for Marias Healthcare Clinic is getting closer to being finished. The new sign was erected last week outside the facility’s new location on Roosevelt Highway as work inside the facility continues. Everything is on track with the exception of the HVAC heating system, which has been delayed a bit, pushing the expected opening date to between February and April of next year.
