Bible survives car fire

The Rustburg Volunteer Fire Department recently responded to a car fire, which destroyed the car, but not a Bible that was inside it. The Rustburg VFD reported that at 3:02 a.m. Monday, July 25, the station was called out to assist the Evington VFD with a car fire. The car was on U.S. Route 29 on the northbound side, just past Browns Mill Road.

TROUTVILLE, Va. (WFXR) — One of the major high school golf tournaments in our area teed off Tuesday morning at the Botetourt Golf and Swim Club. It is the second annual Botetourt Metro Invitational. The tournament was formally known as the Bob McClelland Metro Invitational golf tournament. 13 area teams participated in the one day tournament. There were also a mixture of individual players. Tournament organizer and Botetourt Golf and Swim Club general manager Jeff Sprinkel is proud of the tournament’s return.
