Valley cities cancel holiday events due to stormy weather

ARIZONA, USA — Saturday's stormy weather has prompted some Valley cities to cancel outdoor holiday-themed events that had been scheduled for this weekend. The City of Mesa said Saturday afternoon it would cancel today's Merry Main Street activities. Anybody who had booked sessions on Mesa's ice rink will have an opportunity to re-schedule, the city said.

Rainy Saturday afternoon in store for parts of the valley

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) — Stay dry! We are tracking some rain for the valley this Saturday. Rain chances are around 60% to potentially see about half an inch. This rain will mostly impact the downtown, South Valley, east and southeast Valley. Globe and Tucson will see up to an inch this Saturday afternoon, so plan on wet conditions if traveling to the southeastern parts of the state. Northern Arizona and the mountain country will remain mostly dry and cloudy this weekend.

Mack C. Lake III, age 73 of San Tan Valley, AZ, passed away in his sleep on November 13, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Lake; his sons, Leif Lake and Jacob Lake; one step-son, Chad Jensen; two step-daughters, Melissa Keohane and Lisa Jensen; his brothers, Steve Lake and Jim Lake; as well as six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
