DENVER (CBS4) – Saturday brought another round of slow-moving afternoon thunderstorms to Colorado with flash flooding issues on area burn scars. We’ll see more storms on Sunday but the focus will shift more to western and southwest Colorado. Just because the focus shifts west doesn’t mean the storm threat will be zero in places such as Denver and the Front Range, but it will be a lot lower when compared to the past few days. Evan Michael Joslin Wanted In Connection To Deadly Cherry Hills Village Crash

CHERRY HILLS VILLAGE, Colo. (CBS4) – Cherry Hills Village police say they issued an arrest warrant for 28-year-old Evan Michael Joslin. They say he’s responsible for a deadly crash on July 26. Officers responded to University Boulevard between Quincy and Hampden Avenues at around 6:30 p.m. They say Stacy Pepper, 37, died from the crash. Flooding Threat For CalWood Burn Scar In Boulder County Listed As Considerable

BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) – A flash flood warning for the CalWood Fire burn scar in Boulder County is now listed as a considerable threat until 6:45 p.m. The National Weather Service in Boulder says Geer Canyon Drive to Lefthand Canyon and then to Highway 36 are at risk. Flash flood warning for Calwood burn scar in Boulder County has been upgraded to CONSIDERABLE threat until 645 pm for flash flooding occurring in the area. Specifically Geer Canyon Dr. to Lefthand Canyon then to Hwy 36. For updates see #cowx — NWS Boulder (@NWSBoulder) July 31, 2021 The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office told residents along Geer Canyon and Lefthand Canyon to climb to higher ground until further notice. ‘All clear’ issued after higher ground order, flash flood warning issued for parts of Boulder County on Saturday

The National Weather Service Boulder on Saturday issued a flash flood warning for the Calwood Fire burn scar area until 6:45 p.m. in Boulder County. The Boulder Office of Emergency Management at 6:17 p.m. issued an “all clear,” after putting out a higher ground order earlier in the day, due to flood concerns, for the areas of Geer Canyon and Lefthand Canyon, east of Geer Canyon.

Boat Ramps Closed At Three Western Slope Reservoirs, Closures Expected At Blue Mesa As Water Level Drops

(CBS4) — Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) announced on Thursday the closure of boat ramps at Eleven Mile Reservoir, John Martin Reservoir, and Vega State Park. The National Park Service, meanwhile, published a timeline Friday for anticipated boat ramps closures at Blue Mesa Reservoir as water is drawn from it in support of vanishing surface levels at downstream Colorado Basin reservoirs. The state’s ramp closures at John Martin (near Las Animas) and Vega State Park (near Collbran) are due to low water levels, per CPW. Colorado Teen Gets New Kidney After Overwhelming Response From Community

AURORA, Colo. (CBS4) – A Littleton teen with a rare medical disorder is getting a new chance at life after a recent kidney donation. It’s his second transplant and comes after the overwhelming response following his family’s plea for a donor on CBS4 in late December. At 15 years old, Joe Wren has dreams of being a country music star, but for now, his passion serves another purpose. “My country music helped me through a lot,” Wren said. “I believe that music is medicine.” Wren was born with a rare disorder known as Eagle-Barrett syndrome, often called Prune Belly syndrome.
