New LEGO Super Mario Character Packs Revealed

Fans of LEGO's Super Mario line will be happy to know that new character packs based on the franchise will be released later this summer. In total, there will be 10 character packs, including a Bullet Bill, a Boo, a 1-Up Mushroom, and more. For longtime Mario fans, these character packs should prove to be exciting additions to the overall collection! The new character packs are slated to release on August 1st, which also happens to be the same day that LEGO will be releasing the Super Mario Adventures with Luigi Starter Course, but the packs will be compatible with both of Nintendo's mustachioed plumbers.

Nintendo Switch owners are about to get another dose of Mario Party, as today Nintendo revealed Mario Party Superstars during its E3 2021 Direct. Even though the Switch is already home to Super Mario Party, this new title will be quite different. Rather than offering a slate of new boards and minigames, Mario Party Superstars will instead remaster a collection of boards and minigames from the franchise’s past.

The Switch is getting new Mario Party and WarioWare games

During its E3 Direct, Nintendo announced new entries in the Mario Party and WarioWare series, both coming to the Switch. Mario Party Superstars will be a collection of classic Mario Party boards from the Nintendo 64, featuring (hopefully only the most infuriating) mini-games from both the N64 and GameCube eras. According to Nintendo, the mini-games can be played through online multiplayer and are compatible with regular controllers (unlike the recent Super Mario Party, which didn’t allow for the use of a Pro Controller or Switch Lite unless you had external Joy-Cons.) It will release on October 29th, 2021, for $59.99.
