In March of 2019, Molly Slicker wrote a story about the “Best Burger on Anna Maria Island. Full Story. Well, over 3 years have past since we took another look at Duffy’s Tavern and their crew. There are some fabulous burger joints on AMI. They all do a great job.

Sarasota is located South of Tampa Bay on the Gulf Coast of Florida and offers incredible fishing opportunities due to the rich estuary it sits on. In the brackish water of Sarasota Bay, you will find many gamefish feeding on the baitfish in troves. This scenic range of water provides varying habitats where anglers can find a multitude of target species.

While many think of the Fourth of July as a day off of work, a day with family and friends at grill-outs and other events, that is all true. This holiday though is bigger than all of the sales, family gatherings, and those elements – it is about the independence of this country from those that would oppress us. It is about the freedom to gather, fight for our rights, and continue to live as we see fit. Even when we believe that freedoms are under attack, laws changed unnecessarily, we disagree with our governing officials and other horrors befall us – we still can take a moment to bow our head in remembrance of the history of this country, as we can rise again tomorrow and keep up the fight.

Do you know what is cool about July? Obviously, not the weather. By July, you can tell the seasoned Floridians versus those who are new to our weather game. Those who have experience basking in our hellish temperatures and weighty humidity barely work up a sweat going about daily routines. For some of our newbie friends though, this time of year can have them questioning if those winters up north were really that bad as opposed to the heat they are dealing with now. (Short answer would be yes, the winters were really that bad.)

South Florida Hooters kicked off their Hootie’s Lending Library program at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital on June 14. As part of South Florida Hooters Hootie’s Lending Library initiative the restaurant provided the hospital with a rolling library filled with books for children of all ages. Three South Florida Hooters employees Madison Novo from Hialeah, Sean Abad from Cape Coral and Sloan Miavitz from Sarasota participated in delivering the books and meals to the hospital before leaving to compete in the Miss Hooters Pageant in Tahoe. South Florida Hooters restaurants have taken part in visits to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital for many years by providing food, arts and crafts and most recently books through the Hootie’s Lending Library.

The Perlman Music Program Suncoast (Perlman Suncoast) was awarded a grant in the amount of $10,000 by The Exchange at a ceremony held at its store on June, 9, 2022.
