A Former Sullivan County Deputy is Indicted Following TBI Investigation

An investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation results in the indictment of a former Sullivan County deputy. TBI Agents began their investigation in March into allegations of theft against 36 year-old Cody Cookenour. Agents determined that between April last year and this March, while employed by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, the officer falsified timesheets on several different occasions, reporting hours that he did not work. He is no longer employed by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office.

Sullivan County deputy fired, charged with theft

(WCYB) — A former Sullivan County, Tennessee deputy is facing theft charges for allegedly falsifying timesheets. According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Cody Cookenour, 36, has been indicted on one count of theft of more than $1,000. He turned himself in Tuesday afternoon and was booked into the Sullivan County Jail.
