Family Market in Pontiac to offer free produce, games and raffles

Communities in Schools Family Market is being held 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 30 at Pontiac High School, 1051 Arlene Ave., Pontiac. The event features family-friendly activities including live music, free vaccinations, games, raffles to win kitchen-themed prizes, and cooking demonstrations hosted by MSU Extension. The event includes Gleaners food distribution along with other resources and services on-site. The market is free and open to the community, first come-first served.

Bodies of 2 men found badly decomposed inside Detroit home, dog found alive inside

DETROIT (FOX 2) - One woman said it has been weeks since anyone has seen the man who lives next door. But how he and another person inside died remains a mystery. Police say officers arrived around 10:45 and spent hours on the scene and determined there were no signs of foul play at this time, and are awaiting an autopsy for more information on who these two men are, and what they died of.

Buddy's Pizza Announces Opening Of Two More Michigan Restaurants in 2022

A Detroit favorite, Buddy's Pizza, is continuing to expand, with two new restaurants opening in early 2022. The new locations will be at 5510 Shashabaw Rd., Clarkston, and 2010 W. Grand River Ave., Okemos. The Clarkston location will be carry-out only, while the Okemos location will be a full restaurant at more than 7,000 square feet, with 275 seats including a patio and bar. The Okemos location will also have a mural that harks back to Buddy's original location on Six Mile Road in Detroit.

Father accused of entering home through crawlspace to kidnap 5-week-old daughter, steal car

RICHMOND TOWNSHIP, MI -- Police have arrested a man who allegedly sneaked into a home through a crawlspace in order to kidnap his 5-week-old daughter. According to the Michigan State Police, the man -- who is the child’s biological father -- was arrested Thursday by Troy Police after fleeing the house with the child and stealing a car that belongs to the mother of the baby.

Argument led to fatal shooting on Detroit porch, prosecutors say

A 32-year-old Detroit man was charged in connection with a fatal shooting last week on the city's west side, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said Monday. Bryce Ricardo-Marcell Jester was arrested the day after the incident, which was reported at about 5:35 p.m. Thursday in the 19600 block of Revere. Officers found a 56-year-old man, identified as Carlton Grenlee, wounded on the front porch, authorities said.

On Friday, July 16, 23-year-old Ray Lucas of Eastpointe, Michigan, came home after running an errand with girlfriend Shi'Ann Brown, with whom he shares 18-month-old twin daughters Malaysia and Milan.
