Farmington Man Injured in Accident

An 83-year-old Farmington man suffered moderate injuries in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday evening. The Highway Patrol says the accident occurred Northbound on US-67, just North of Route “DD”. Lavon McCellan was traveling in his 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 when he ran off the right road edge, struck a road sign, struck a guard rail, returned to the roadway, and ran off the left edge. McCellan was transported to Parkland Health Center South.

"Christmas at the Long House" will be held from 2-4 p.m. Dec. 4, and 4-6 p.m. Dec. 18 at Farmington’s historic Long House, located at 400 Ste. Genevieve Avenue. Ste. Genevieve holiday in full swing

Those who are nostalgic for old-time — really old-time — Christmases will want to visit the French Colonial town of Ste. Genevieve this weekend. The two-day Holiday Christmas Festival starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday with croquignoles – sort of a donut with a twist – at the Dr. Shaw House before the 11 a.m. parade in the historic district, and from there, the event explodes into dozens of concerts, story-tellings, magic demonstrations, reenactments, special food and drink, lectures, concerts, and shopping, shopping, shopping. The evening culminates with a 6 p.m. lighting of the community Christmas tree, with carols and appearances by Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Jingle Bell Run/Walk brings holiday spirit to Desloge Saturday
