Rio Grande City Station agents encountered four large groups totaling 685 noncitizens in Starr County over the past week. COVID-19 hospitalizations across the Rio Grande Valley are continuing a downward trend, hitting a low of 35 total hospitalizations this week. At the beginning of the week, there were a total of 36 patients hospitalized due to COVID-19 throughout the Valley. That dropped to just 35 patients on Tuesday and the total number stayed there for the remainder of the week, according to data from the Texas Department of State Health Services, or DSHS.
