New senior housing facility brings sense of community to residents

The Senior Nutrition Program is part of Stanly County Senior Services. Lunch is served to anyone 60 and older at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Sites are in Albemarle (1816 E. Main St.), Locust (101 Park Dr.), Norwood (247 Turner St.), and Oakboro (626 Long St.). There is no set charge for this service. Donations are accepted. Stanly Health Foundation awards $12,500 in scholarships

Students had two opportunities to apply for scholarships in 2021 from the Stanly Health Foundation to support their studies in healthcare. To be considered for either scholarship, a student must be an Atrium Health Stanly teammate, the dependent of a teammate, or a resident of Stanly or Montgomery Counties and have completed at least sixty hours of undergraduate study by the end of the spring 2021 semester with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or higher.
