St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner has charged them with unlawful use of weapon, a felony, even as Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt is attempting to intervene in the case, seeking to have the charges dropped. It’s kept cable news programs busy for weeks on end.

In his senior year, all that preparation paid off in a huge way: Muchison not only was named National Student of the Year by the National Speech and Debate Association, but also netted $22,500 en route to winning Optimist International’s 2020 Oratorical World Championship.

As I walk into the “Dare to Know: Chess in the Age of Reason” exhibition, I instantly feel surrounded by history. Even though I’m not a well-seasoned chess master, there are several unique chess sets and collectibles that catch my eye. As an artist, I am immediately drawn to the skillful craft and the aesthetics of the hand-carved chess sets. However, some of my favorite pieces in “Dare to Know” celebrate the wonder, mystery, and illusion of the Enlightenment.
