Man Injured in St. Francois County Crash

(Farmington) An 83-year-old man suffered moderate injuries in a two-car crash this morning in St. Francois County. The Highway Patrol says the accident occurred on Route “OO”, South of Williams Road. Farmington resident Donald Thurman was traveling southbound when he attempted to turn left into a private drive and struck the side of a 2006 Dodge 2500. The St. Francois County Ambulance transported Thurman to Parkland Health Center in Farmington. The driver of the Dodge 2500 was not injured.

Ceremony honors Trail of Tears

A program honoring the Trail of Tears and the bicentennials of Missouri and St. Francois County was held on a rainy Wednesday afternoon in the gazebo at Farmington's Long Park. New trial dates set for former police officer

New trial dates were set last week for a former area police officer facing four felony charges related to alleged sexual contact with an underage girl. In March 2019, Todd Moyers, 44, of Potosi, was charged in St. Francois County with two counts of felony child molestation in the fourth degree and two counts of felony sexual abuse in the first degree.

FARMINGTON, Mo. — Two St. Francois County Jail inmates escaped early Monday before being captured near the detention facility in Farmington, Mo. Two inmates, ages 21 and 31, escaped just after 1 a.m., said St. Francois County Sheriff Dan Bullock. They escaped by removing a sink/toilet unit from the jail wall and exiting through the plumbing chase.

At 4.7%, St. Francois County’s April unemployment numbers were some of the lowest the county had seen since even before COVID-19 hit in March 2020, according to the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics.
