Over $23,000 worth of Meth Seized in St. Clair County Drug Investigation

CAPAC, MI – An investigation into the sales of crystal methamphetamine by the St. Clair County Drug Task Force ended with the seizure of $23,500 worth of the drug. According to Sheriff Mat King, the investigation led to a traffic stop of the suspect vehicle in the village of Capac around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night. A large amount of crystal meth was located inside the vehicle, driven by a 34 year old Lynn Township man.

Over $20k in meth seized in Capac area bust

A man is in custody after thousands of dollars in meth were found in his home and vehicle Wednesday night near Capac. According to the St. Clair County Drug Task Force, authorities were investigating the sale of crystal meth in the Village of Capac around 10pm Wednesday night when a traffic stop was made. A 34 year old Lynn Township man was found to have meth inside his car and he was taken into custody. Deputies then searched the suspect’s house in the 6500 block of Sterling Road in Lynn Township where more meth, as well as a firearm and drug paraphernalia was found. The suspect is currently lodged in the St. Clair County Jail and his name will be released pending arraignment. The total amount of meth seized is believed to have a street value of $23,500.

Meth, heroin, and fentanyl seized in Port Huron bust

Two men are facing a multitude of drug related charges following a drug bust last Wednesday in Port Huron. According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, the two were arrested in the 900 block of St. Clair Street as Drug Task Force members were executing a search warrant. An undisclosed quantity of heroin, fentanyl, and methamphetamine were seized from the home. 31 year old Chad Hamilton and 26 year old Jesse Sawdon were arrested. Hamilton is charged with the manufacturing and delivery of meth, heroin, fentanyl, maintaining a drug house, and being a fourth time habitual offender. He is He is being lodged in the St. Clair County Jail on a $75,000 bond. Sawon was charged with being in possession of methamphetamine and being a fourth time habitual offender. He is being held on a $25,000 bond. Both men will face a probable cause hearing next Tuesday.
