2 killed and 1 injured in overnight NYC shootings

Two men were killed and another was hurt in two separate shootings across New York City overnight, police said. The bloodshed occurred in a span of 30 minutes in Queens. A man hanging out with a pal in Astoria was shot twice in the face and killed late Friday, when an attacker in a gray hoodie marched up to 40-05 Astoria Blvd. and opened fire, cops said.

NYPD Investigating Pair Of Deadly Shootings In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Police are investigating a pair of  deadly shootings in Queens. The first happened in front of a home on 102nd Road in Ozone Park around 10:45 p.m. Friday. Police said the victim, a 20-year-old man, was taken to the hospital by private means after he was shot in the torso and left leg. He later died at the hospital. Another man died and one was hurt when gunfire broke out at the Astoria Houses just after 11 p.m. Anthony Edwards, 31, died after he was shot in the face. The other man was shot in the groin and is in stable condition. So far, there are no arrests in either case.

KEARNY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — There was chaos inside a Walmart in Kearny, New Jersey when a man was stabbed with a machete during an argument Friday, police said. Police got to the store on Harrison Avenue around 10:30 a.m. after someone called 911 to report an assault, CBS2’s Jenna DeAngelis reported. Police said they found a 43-year-old man inside the store with a deep cut and blood streaming down the back of his head. A 27-year-old man in Westchester was allegedly driving with a blood alcohol content more than double the legal limit when he crashed into a rock and disabled his car.
