Juvenile Cited and Released On Multiple Charges

Clay County, IA (KICD) — A Sutherland juvenile is facing charges in relation to a traffic stop in Clay County on Tuesday. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation in the 3900 mile of M-27, and upon investigation, it was found that a 17-year-old female juvenile was in possession of vaping products, alcohol, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. The juvenile was taken into custody and was cited into court for speeding and underage tobacco possession. The juvenile was also cited into juvenile court for underage alcohol possession, possession of a controlled substance – marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Harris Man Pleads Guilty On Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon Charge

Osceola County, IA (KICD) — A Harris, Iowa man has pled guilty on the charges of assault while displaying a dangerous weapon. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says on July 27th 62-year-old Danny Lynn Kramer was sentenced to 90 days in the Osceola County Jail with all but 14 days suspended with credit for time already served. Kramer was ordered to pay a fine of $855 along with a 15% crime services surcharge, and was placed on formal probation for a year.

Arrest made for death of northwest Iowa woman

LAKE PARK, Iowa (AP) — A 23-year-old man has been charged with the death of a Lake Park woman in December. Justice Bernston is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 25-year-old Angel Bastman. He was arrested Thursday at the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility. His bond is set at $1 million. Twenty-six-year-old Allison Decker was charged earlier this week with first-degree murder in Bastman's death.

Spencer man charged with OWI

Last Tuesday at approximately 12:19am the Clay County Sheriff's office received a call of a possible drunk driver traveling on Highway 18. A Clay County Deputy and a Spencer Police Officer later located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the 2300 mile of Highway 18. Police made contact with 69 year old Micheal Taylor of Spencer. The deputy detected signs of intoxication, then upon further investigation it was determined that Taylor was intoxicated. Taylor was then charged with OWI 1st offense. Taylor is being held in jail to appear before the magistrate.

Second Person Charged With Murder In Lake Park Woman’s Death

(Fort Dodge, IA) — A second person has been charged with murder in the death of a 25-year-old Lake Park woman. Twenty-three-year-old Justice Berntson was charged Thursday while he was being held at the Fort Dodge prison on a separate charge. Twenty-six-year-old Allison Decker was charged earlier last week in Dickinson County District Court. The body of Angel Bastman was found on December 22nd inside her home. Police haven’t said how Bastman was killed.
