Ken Yager (R-Kingston). “He cared about people in need. He could be found mowing the lawn at the local cemetery or cutting up a fallen tree in an elderly widow’s yard. He will be long remembered for his acts of kindness. I give my sincerest condolences to his family.” “George has been a great friend for a very long time,” said State Rep. Saving A Mainstay

Beersheba Springs Market closed Jan. 7, and a community effort is underway aimed at its return. “The current owners have operated the business for 50 years or more,” John Adams said, of Bud and Sharon Whitman. “They wanted to retire. No one showed interest in buying it. We, we being a number of people, wanted to keep the store open. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have a business in Beersheba Springs and the community would become unincorporated and just disappear eventfully, it seems like.”
