Major Crash Unit investigating officer-involved collision

LUBBOCK, Tx-–The Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit is investigating a Sunday morning officer-involved collision. Officers were called to the 7100 block of 19th Street around 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 17, for a single vehicle crash. As officers were working the crash, an SUV driven by 19 year-old Ryan Hinojosa was traveling westbound when the vehicle struck one of the marked LPD vehicles blocking the lane of traffic, pushing it into the other marked unit.

Evie Mae’s ranks #8 in 50 best BBQ joints in Texas

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) - Evie Mae’s Pit Barbeque in Wolfforth earned a spot in the Top 10 list of Texas Monthly’s Top 50 Barbecue Joints. The popular restaurant, just outside Lubbock off Marsha Sharp Fwy., was ranked eighth by the magazine, which visited more than 400 barbecue joints to determine the best of the best, according to a news release. They’re open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until they’re sold out. They also have a second location at United on 114th and Slide Road, which has a limited menu, but longer hours.
