This is ahead of a large storm system that is likely to bring Rain and the potential for heavy snow to Michiana. The latest data on Friday morning shows that a colder solution may be possible. That would mean colder air in place leading to a snowier solution. We will continue to sift through data as we look for some trends that will help us fine tune the details of this system by early next week. But a warming trend begins Sunday, with mostly cloudy skies and a high of 29. It will be mostly sunny, with a high near 32, on Monday. The temperature continues to climb Tuesday, with a high near 40, but there is a 30% chance of rain, with rain and snow likely on Wednesday.

Icy road conditions cause several slide-offs throughout Michiana

(WNDU) - The bitter cold caused many slide-offs throughout Michiana Wednesday morning including a FedEx truck that dangled from the Indiana Toll Road near Mishawaka. Warming centers to open in Elkhart, dangerous wind chills expected
