Fire at abandoned Rochester home full of bullets called 'suspicious'

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester firefighters are calling an early Monday morning fire at an abandoned home filled with bullets "suspicious." Crews went to the scene at a home on Burbank Street near Remington Street just after midnight. When they got there, firefighters said they saw "heavy" flames flowing out of the second floor. The flames reportedly came close to the home next door.

Fired police officer's personnel file reveals domestic violence allegations

When Jack Montesanto was fired from the Geneva Police Department in late September, it was the final step in a process lasting more than two years. After responding to a home at 326 Main St. on July 23, 2019, for an excessive noise complaint and taking a resident into custody, Montesanto strangled the woman while she was in the booking area of police headquarters. He applied force to her neck and "intentionally" impeded breathing or blood circulation for about five seconds.

Man suffering gunshot wound checks self into hospital

GREECE, N.Y. (WHEC) — A gunshot victim who has at least one gunshot wound checked himself into Unity Hospital in Greece Sunday evening. According to authorities, Rochester Police were dispatched to Unity Hospital in Greece for a report of a walk-in gunshot victim. The victim, a 30-year-old male from the City of Rochester, stated he had been shot in Rochester in the area of Glide Street. He was driven to Unity Hospital on his own accord.

Seneca Falls woman faces vehicle and traffic charges

A Seneca Falls woman faces multiple vehicle and traffic charges after a stop in Seneca Falls. On Wednesday, December 1st, 2021 at 2:39 pm, the Town of Seneca Falls Police arrested Brandy Elliott, age 29, of Seneca Falls for Operating a Motor Vehicle using a Portable Electronic Device, Unlicensed Operator and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation following a traffic stop on Cayuga Street. During the traffic stop it was found that Elliott’s operating privilege’s were suspended in New York State for failure to answer a summons.
