Local Family Raises Funds for Mental Health Awareness

Joseph Michael Eddinger was extremely outgoing and fun-loving. A natural born athlete, he started playing hockey at the age of five. In high school, he played hockey with the Canandaigua Knights as well as hockey and lacrosse for the Canandaigua Braves. Passion for all things athletic seamlessly translated from hockey to lacrosse, taking him down a bright path at the University of Albany, where he excelled on the UAlbany Great Danes Lacrosse team. Man, 89 of Geneva, dies in Ontario County crash

CLIFTON SPRINGS, N.Y. — An 89-year-old man from Geneva was killed in a crash in Ontario County on Wednesday morning. New York State Police responded to East Main Street in the Village of Clifton Springs around 10:15 a.m. Troopers say Fred Ventura’s car slammed into a tree. They tell us he was unresponsive at the scene.

Webster Getting Bagel Shop

A highly-anticipated bagel shop has tentatively set an opening date for early February in Webster Groves. Bagel Union, at 8705 Big Bend Blvd. in the former location of Porter Paints, held a soft opening on Sunday, Jan. 22, to much aplomb. Hungry customers reported waiting up to 90 minutes in the cold for a first look — and taste — of the New York-style bagels with cream cheese and other fresh toppings.

What Happened To the Snow?

We are nearly halfway through winter, and the lack of snow concerns those in Wayne Hills as little to no snowfall has been present at all this winter. With no snow days, snowmen, and snowball fights, winter fun for this year is worried to be non-existent as temperatures fluctuate warm and the only precipitation being rain. Although there were a couple snowstorms which covered the town, schools were still seen to be open and not as much snow fell to fulfill the winter fun.
