Expect traffic on the I-90/SR 18 interchange starting Monday

I-90: Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 there will be short-duration lane closures in both directions just west of the interchange. WSDOT is prepping for some major changes in the Spring. The projects include building drainage systems, installing underground wiring for new traffic lights, and tearing down the old weigh station off the westbound I-90 on-ramp. They are expected to be completed by 2025 and will improve traffic flow and safety, and reduce commute time, WSDOT said.

CRIME WATCH: Roxbury 76 robbery

King County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating another robbery at the 76 station/mini-mart at 2851 SW Roxbury. As announced in a bulletin a short time ago over the Seattle Police airwaves as an FYI, five armed people robbed the station, then left in a blue sedan, last seen heading eastbound – that’s all the information we have so far.

Health Through Housing Initiative and Chief Seattle Club to Provide Housing With Culturally Competent Social Services

In December 2022, King County and Chief Seattle Club announced that the Salmonberry Lofts in Pioneer Square became the fifth Health Through Housing building to begin moving tenants in. The Health Through Housing initiative is a “regional approach to address chronic homelessness at a countywide scale.” Introduced by King County Executive Dow Constantine in his 2020 budget speech, the Health Through Housing initiative dedicates one-tenth of a cent of sales tax revenue to the purchase and renovation of motels, hotels, and other buildings to be converted to emergency and permanent housing.
