EVERETT, Wash. — A hardware store in Snohomish County was burglarized on Tuesday night, police say. The Harbor Freight at 5231 Evergreen Way in Everett was broken into around 11:30 p.m. According to the Everett Police Department, a white truck backed through the store's front doors and the driver loaded items into his vehicle.

Inslee appoints Miguel Duran to Snohomish County Superior Court

Gov. Jay Inslee announced today the appointment of Miguel Duran to the Snohomish County Superior Court. He will fill a newly created judicial seat in the county. Duran is a civil litigator with Wilson Smith Cochran Dickerson, where, since 2019, he has focused on personal injury, premises liability, and other complex torts. Duran co-founded his firm’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee to encourage diversity in legal practice, bolster the firm’s awareness of minority cultural issues and improve its focus on pro bono work.

New Voter Registration Cards

Snohomish and Skagit County Election Offices last week mailed out new voter registration cards. Following the 2020 Census, adjustments were made late last year to boundaries for congressional, legislative and/or county council districts across much of the state. Many registered voters in Snohomish and Skagit counties have received or soon will receive new registration cards in the mail.

U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen walked the trails at Veterans Memorial Park on Monday while touring the planned transit connection project to the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center. In preparation for Sound Transit’s Lynnwood Link light rail extension that is scheduled to begin service in 2024, the City of Mountlake Terrace plans to build a pedestrian plaza adjacent to the new light rail station and a lighted paved pedestrian trail through Veterans Memorial Park.
