Slow Black Friday morning across Sacramento amid price hikes up to 17%

ARDEN-ARCADE, Calif. — Black Friday was expected to have larger crowds in 2021 compared to 2020, but shoppers were not quick to rush stores across Sacramento Friday morning. Meanwhile, bottlenecks, due in part to shipping and trucker delays, are causing prices on items like televisions to soar, up to 17% marked up from last year, an Allianz Research representative told The Associated Press. Prices for items like toys, clothing, appliances and other items are up anywhere from 5% to 17%.

Several holiday-themed events are happening this weekend in Northern California. Here’s a round-up if you’re looking for things to do. The Tuolomne County town of Sonora will host its 38th annual Christmas parade on Friday.
