Deputies Arrest Silver Creek Man for Violating Order of Protection

A Silver Creek man was arrested after Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies investigated a harassment complaint at an address in the village Sunday night. Deputies responded to the scene at about 10:30 PM and spoke with multiple people, and they determined that 69-year-old Lawrence Mosandel had allegedly violated an active stay-away order of protection. Mosandel was located a short time later and charged with 2nd-degree criminal contempt. He was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

Gowanda man charged with felony DWI after crash in Buffalo

A Gowanda man is facing felony DWI and aggravated DWI after a crash on the I-190 Exit 4 deceleration ramp in the city of Buffalo early Sunday morning. State Police Troop T reports that 23-year-old Leland John was apparently driving too fast for the exit ramp and rolled the vehicle, striking the left barrier. John was not injured, but troopers say they found him to be intoxicated. While being processed, John's blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.18 percent. That's more than twice the legal limit. Troopers say John was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to Buffalo City Court next month.

Kenmore man admits to looting Buffalo liquor store during protest

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Twenty-three-year-old Daniel Hill of Kenmore pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary in front of an Erie County Court judge Tuesday. According to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office, Hill and others burglarized a liquor store on Elmwood Avenue near West Utica Street during last year’s protest on May 30 at 10:34 p.m. The store’s window had been broken, but it’s not clear who did that.

Motorcyclist goes over guardrail on Scajaquada Expressway

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo police say a motorcyclist lost control on Route 198 and fell over a guardrail. On Tuesday, shortly after 3 p.m., the 34-year-old man was near the Niagara Street exit when he went over the guardrail and fell roughly 30 feet “into a pile of rubbish,” police say.
