SIKESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - Thousands of dollars are being offered for information in the case of a missing Sikeston woman. According to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety (DPS), The Friends of Shyann Morrison have raised a $5,000 reward for information which leads police to the whereabouts of Morrison or verifiable information as to exactly what has happened to her.

Challenger Cobb gains one vote in recount, wins Scott County prosecutor’s race

A recount Wednesday in the Republican primary for Scott County prosecuting attorney didn’t change the initial outcome of the election, with Donald Cobb still beating incumbent Amanda Oesch. The official recount gave Cobb one extra vote, extending his lead over Oesch to three votes, 2,582 to 2,579. Results, certified Aug. 5, from the GOP primary showed incumbent Oesch losing by just two. Candidates in local elections in Missouri have the right to request a recount within five business days of official certification if the candidates’ vote tallies are separated by less than 1%. Inspection of Cairo bridge starts Monday with lane restriction

On Monday, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will begin a detailed inspection of the US 51 Ohio River "Cairo" Bridge between Kentucky and Illinois. The work zone will require flaggers to enforce a 10-foot load width restriction from about 8 am until 4 pm for the first five or six days of the ten-day inspection. Once the under-bridge inspection vehicle completes its work, the lane restriction will be removed.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A local group called, “Street Level” organized a meeting with State Senator Holly Rehder and Cape Girardeau City Mayor Stacy Kinder. Member Bridget Jackson has a human approach to the topic. She said, “If the circumstances are right. Any one of us could end up in a homeless situation. Because that type of situation doesn’t care what your income is, what your color is, what your sexual orientation is, what religion you follow.”

Poplar Bluff man in custody on fleeing and stealing

A Poplar Bluff man is in custody in Stoddard County on multiple charges. The Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department reports that 46-year-old Jeffery Gilbreath was arrested Monday on charges of receiving stolen property, stealing – $750 or more, and resisting arrest, detention, or stop by fleeing. Gilbreath led authorities on a chase from Stoddard County to Butler County with speeds reaching over 100 miles per hour. He was apprehended after abandoning the vehicle, which had reportedly been stolen out of Poplar Bluff, near Butler County Road 630. He also admitted to stealing items from a property in Stoddard County. Gilbreath is being held in the Stoddard County Jail on a $35,000 cash only bond. He is scheduled to appear in court this morning.

Southern Illinois University announced on Wednesday the university and baseball coach Lance Rhodes have come to terms on a five-year contract extension.
