Skunk found dead in Stratford's family backyard tests positive for rabies

The first case of rabies of 2021 in Sherman County was reported on Wednesday after a family spotted a dead skunk in their backyard and it tested positive for rabies. According to Sherman County Emergency Management, on May 12 at about 11 a.m., the family found the dead skunk in the backyard. Looking through their RING device video, it showed an uncoordinated, wobbly skunk wandering on the front lawn at about 2:30 a.m.

Officials identify man arrested after police chase from Oklahoma to Stratford

SHERMAN COUNTY, Texas (KFDA) - Officials have released the identity of the man arrested after a police chase from Oklahoma to Stratford. According to the Sherman County Sheriff’s Office, officials were notified that a Texhoma Police Department officer was in pursuit of an SUV that drove away from a traffic stop around 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.
