(Brownfield Network) – A northwest central Ohio farmer says she’s excited to test out new technology as the planting season picks up speed. Patty Mann tells Brownfield “last year we started a row starter on our corn planter and this year we added high-speed planting units so hopefully we’ll be able to make it really count when we get the opportunity.”

New Black Creek Bridge Open on Route M in Shelby County

Hannibal, Mo – The Black Creek Bridge on Route M in Shelby County is now open after being the fifth bridge completed through the FARM Bridge Program. The bridge’s replacement was completed approximately one month in advance after it was closed in January. Four more bridges are currenlty under construction for replacement. MoDOT asks drivers to watch out for their crews, pay attention to signs, and slow down in work zones.

A Shelby County man faces one count of child abuse or neglect. Thirty-six-year-old, Lenny E. Boyd-Schoonover, of Shelbyville, was arrested Monday, March 7, 2022. According to the probable cause statement, on Wednesday, March 2, in the morning before school, while Schoonover was at his residence at 501 E. 1st Street in Shelbyville, Schoonover allegedly knowingly caused a child less than 18 years of age to suffer physical injury as a result of abuse by hitting the alleged victim on the top and back area of the head with his hand multiple times causing swelling and bruising along with a small bleeding abrasion.
