Elkhart Lake man throws perfect 900 bowling series, becomes fourth Wisconsinite to turn feat

Cody Schmitt celebrated his once-in-a-lifetime moment by getting back to work. The 26-year-old Elkhart Lake native wasn't just a typical league bowler at Anchor Lanes when he rolled the 38th perfect 900 series verified by the United States Bowling Congress, accomplished Nov. 16 in his Tuesday night league. He also had to hop behind the counter and help keep things moving.

Boys Varsity Basketball falls to Sheboygan South 67 – 50

The Pirates faced Sheboygan South in the season opener of the Thanksgiving Turkey Shootout Tournament. The game started a bit slow on the offensive end for both teams and the halftime score saw the Pirates down 23-18. The offense picked up in the second half for both teams as the Pirates made a bit of a run to close the deficit. In the end South made their free throws down the stretch to extend the lead. The Pirates were led by Ryan Burmesch with 19 points and 10 rebounds, Aedan Egan chipped in 10 points, and Patrick Lippe had 9 points.

The 2-1 Panthers, who opened East Central Conference play on Thursday, could not overcome Hunter Gosz's 26 points and 10 rebounds.
