LAST DAILY COVID UPDATE FROM SHEBOYGAN COUNTY DPH

Only one of 33 test results received by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health was positive for COVID-19 since Thursday, and with 3 recoveries, the number of active cases being monitored in Sheboygan County fell to 41. That’s the lowest number since July 3rd of 2020 when 33 cases were known. For the run of the pandemic so far, 13,877 cases have been identified in Sheboygan County. 147 did not survive, a figure that has been unchanged since June 10. Currently, there are no county residents hospitalized for treatment of the disease.

The Fight To Save Kohler-Andrae State Park

Last Saturday, Mary Faydash stood on her deck overlooking Lake Michigan with a microphone in her hand. The occasion was a rally for Sheboygan County’s Friends of the Black River Forest, the grassroots environmental group that she helped found. If it weren’t for FBRF, Herb Kohler, Jr.’s vanity project, a golf course parked on top of a rare wetland, with a 4-lane road through Kohler-Andrae State Park to take well-to-do golfers there, would already have been built.

Devin-Acres Hosts The Sheboygan County Breakfast On The Farm

Tomorrow morning Sheboygan County’s Breakfast on the Farm will be at Devin-Acres, a fifth-generation farm in Elkhart Lake hosted by Kevin and Deb Kirsch from 7 am to noon. The dairy hosted back in 2011 and they were asked again two years ago and decided it was the right time. Kevin joked that just because you’ve hosted before, doesn’t make it any easier to get ready for.

Ayla is a six year old boxer-bulldog mix searching for her happy home. She was brought in to The Humane Society Of Sheboygan County with an untreated ear infection that caused a ruptured eardrum. Poor Ayla has a small head-tilt because of this. It doesn’t bother her if it doesn’t bother you. She’s a super happy and very affectionate little girl that can’t wait to learn more. PANDEMIC CONTINUES TO RECEDE WITH NO SIGNIFICANT TRENDS SEEN

By all measures, the COVID-19 pandemic in Sheboygan County, as well as in the State of Wisconsin, is receding, with relatively few changes in data within the last 24 hours. According to the daily update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, no new positive test results have been received in the last 24 hours, and the number of negative tests has been revised downward by one. 13,873 cases have now been identified in Sheboygan County, and active cases were down by 1, to 46 now being monitored. No persons in Sheboygan County were hospitalized for treatment of COVID-19.

STORMS PRODUCE UNWELCOME WINDS, MUCH NEEDED RAIN

A round of thunderstorms blew through Sheboygan County and much of Southern Wisconsin overnight, producing some damaging winds but at the same time, some much needed rain. Scattered reports of downed trees were received by the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, and a few power outages were indicated by We Energies. A wind gust of 54 MPH was recorded by an automated weather station on Sheboygan’s north lighthouse at around 3:45 AM.
