Graveside services with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 28th, in Hart Cemetery, south of Breckenridge, with Mark Wilcox officiating. Visitation will be held 6-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 27th, at Morehart Mortuary of Albany. Interment will be under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Texas’ Shackelford, Throckmorton Counties Launch Plan to Improve Internet Access, Speeds

Input needed to develop a plan to improve internet access and speeds across two Texas counties. Shackelford and Throckmorton Counties, TX. – The Shackelford and Throckmorton Counties Broadband Committee has launched work to develop a Technology Action Plan that will provide immediate and long-term solutions to improve internet access and speeds across both counties. The committee consisting of local stakeholders is in partnership with Connected Nation Texas (CN Texas) to develop the plan.

Julia Elizabeth Putnam, 77, a resident of Albany, Texas, departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2021, in an Abilene hospital. She was born in Abilene, Texas, on Oct. 10, 1943, to Joseph Carrol Putnam and Margaret Elizabeth Sheers Putnam. Julia lived on the family’s Camp Cooper Ranch in Throckmorton County before they moved to Albany in 1947. The Putnams moved back to the ranch in 1955. Julia attended Albany schools and graduated from high school in 1962.
