Analysis shows most expensive gas in Newport

(NEWPORT, OR) If you’re paying more than $3.54 for gas in the Newport area, you could be getting a better deal. If you choose the most expensive station in the area, you could be paying as much as an extra $0.10 per gallon, according to an analysis by GasBuddy Sunday.

Coast Guard Newport reported this week that two fishing vessels, 12 miles offshore in a thick morning fog, accidentally bumped into each other…sustaining damage to one of them that required being towed back to port. No injuries. Hopefully lesson learned. Not only all hands on deck but also all eyes on the radar screens.

Oregon Coast Art Bus Makes Debut in Newport

(Newport, Oregon) – A unique and colorful new way for kids in rural areas to learn about art is debuting in Newport soon, with the Oregon Coast Council of the Arts (OCCA) announcing the rollout of the Oregon Coast Art Bus on August 14. The bus is a mobile arts-learning platform, that brings the creative process and learning projects to students in Lincoln County and beyond.

The Oregon Coast Aquarium (OCAq) is honored to announce a new addition to its sea otter raft: Earle the southern sea otter pup. Earle was found stranded at Asilomar State Marine Reserve in Pacific Grove, California in May of 2021. At just three weeks old and weighing about 6.5 lbs, the pup was cold and lethargic. His mother could not be located; as such, the pup would have been unable to survive on his own.
