Two Catalytic Convertor Thieves Arrested in Petaluma

Petaluma Police say two suspects were arrested for trying to steal a catalytic converter. Jose Aguilar-Robles and Nancy Turcios were arrested at Prospect and Keller streets on Friday morning just past 5am. A witness saw that a man was using a power tool underneath her neighbor’s car, and the man crawled out from under the car and left the area in another vehicle. Police stopped the suspect vehicle later in the area of Petaluma Boulevard North and Washington Street. Officers found a catalytic converter in the car along with power tools, and both Aguilar-Robles and Turcios were arrested.

Members of Green Day play surprise gig to celebrate reopened Oakland dive bar

“In the back of my mind, I was expecting the rug to get pulled out from under us,” said Jason Beebout, a co-owner of the Golden Bull. It had been more than 15 months since a band had played to a boisterous crowd clamoring over the brick wall-lined stage of the Oakland dive bar, and Beebout wasn’t sure if he’d be able to pull this gig off. He hadn’t booked a show in more than a year, and recording equipment had been sitting idly on the darkened, quiet stage since last July.
