Gutter Company Responds To Tragic Accident Outside Streator

The company who lost an employee to a workplace accident near Streator is reacting to the death. Double L Seamless Gutters out of Roanoke used their Facebook page to say they're grieving the death of co-worker and friend Seth Durand. The company says when they return to work, they will work with a different purpose and work in honor of Seth because they know he would want them to get back to work.

One Electrocution Victim Near Streator Released From A Hospital

Some good news to report following a scary workplace accident outside Streator. One of the five workers electrocuted Tuesday morning while doing gutter work is out of the hospital. The high school track coach of Daniel Moser says Moser was injured in the accident but has since been released from a hospital. Four other men were working with Moser for a gutter company out of Roanoke. One of them was flown to Peoria for treatment. No word yet on their conditions.

Workers suffer electric shocks, fall from ladders after gutter hits power line in Streator

STREATOR, Ill. (CBS) -- Five workers suffered electric shocks Tuesday while working on a house in Streator, about two hours southwest of Chicago. At 11 a.m., contractors were on ladders installing new gutters at 1488 N. 1659th Rd. in Streator when they hit a power line with a piece of aluminum gutter, according to LaSalle County Sheriff Adam Diss. This caused the five workers to suffer shocks that knocked them all to the ground.

Five injured after power line incident near Streator

STREATOR – Five men were injured at a home in rural Streator after coming into contact with a power line. According to the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office, around 11 AM in the 1400 block of North 1659th road, contractors working at a residence on ladders reportedly struck a power line with a piece of aluminum gutter. One male victim was taken by Life Flight Helicopter from the scene to a Peoria hospital. Three male victims were taken by ambulance to OSF St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Ottawa, and one male victim was taken by ambulance to the OSF Center for Health in Streator. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, and the current conditions of those involved was not released.

Five people electrocuted in rural LaSalle County

STREATOR, Ill. – Five people were injured in LaSalle County when they got electrocuted as they installed a gutter on a house. The sheriffs office in LaSalle County says it happened in rural Streator. The employees of an area gutter company were installing seamless gutters on a home when one of the gutters touched a power line, electrocuting all five of them, and causing them to fall 25 feet.

It was a group of contractors that were electrocuted northwest of Streator. The La Salle County Sheriff's Office says five men working on ladders at a home in the 1400 block of North 1659th Road struck a power line with a piece of aluminum gutter causing them to be electrocuted and to be knocked to the ground. One man was flown from the scene to Peoria while four other men were taken to either OSF in Ottawa or Streator. Everyone involved survived the workplace accident.

The driver of the truck bailed out before impact and then left the scene of the accident.
