BARABOO, Wis. — A 23-year-old Rio man died early Saturday after a wrong-way crash. Sauk County Sheriff’s officials said a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu was traveling south in the northbound lane of US Highway 12 near Old 33 at around 1:30 a.m. The Malibu collided with two vehicles that were traveling in the right direction.

The National Weather Service issued an overnight frost advisory Sunday for much of northern Wisconsin but said the cold spell will be brief. The frost advisory covers "a good chunk" of the northwest and northern part of the state and will stretch down into Marquette, Green Lake, Sauk and Columbia counties, said Rebecca Hansen, meteorologist for the NWS in Sullivan. The advisory is in effect from about 1 to 8 a.m. Monday.

The Hillmen suffered another tough loss against Sauk Prairie. The Hillmen played really well in the field. However the offense was very quite only collecting 2 hits in 7 innings. Riley donahoe and Trent Mumm both had a hit a piece one coming in the 1st and 1 in the 2nd and the bats went quite. Sauk Prairie took a few hard hit balls away from the Hillmen by making several nice plays. The Hillmen will travel to Sauk Prairie next thursday for the first round of regionals.

Sauk County is now offering text-to-911 services, officials announced Wednesday. While a call to 911 is still preferred, those who can’t make a call because of their situation can send a text instead.
