Visiting Los Alamos, New Mexico: Top Things To Do

Among other gems, Los Alamos in New Mexico boasts the birthplace of the atomic bomb (or better said, one of modern science’s most significant breakthroughs). You don’t have to be a history buff or a mad scientist to appreciate the Bradbury Science Museum, a one-part laboratory and two-parts museum with dynamic galleries and life-sized replicas of the bombs that played a critical and controversial role in ending WWII. The oldest, continually occupied building in town is now the Los Alamos History Museum. From the Anasazi Indians to the scientists who put Los Alamos on the map, it will take you back in time. Must-stops also include the Fuller Lodge, an eye-catching pine log structure, the Bathtub Row, a series of cottages that housed classrooms and once boasted the only tubs in town, and the “Big House,” which served as the students’ dormitory before the scientists moved in.

Santa Fe's Most Beautiful Church | Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi

Sant Fe is a town in New Mexico brimming with art, architecture, and culture. In my opinion, one of the best ways to dive into these aspects of Santa Fe is to visit some of the notable churches around town. Arguably the most notable church is "Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi", which is a beautiful building inside and out. With two respectably sized bell-towers, a massive front door, and an ornate design inside, this cathedral left a very strong impression on me and is one of my favorite churches in the United States.
