Fernando Parra to retire from NUSD

Superintendent Fernando Parra of the Nogales Unified School District announced on Monday that he will retire from his role at the end of the following academic year. During its June 14 meeting, the NUSD governing board was scheduled to offer Parra an extension of his contract, which has one year left. Mexican woman shot by Border Patrol in Nogales

A Border Patrol agent shot a Mexican woman on a side street in Nogales on Wednesday afternoon, but relatively few details were available about the incident by the next day. The shooting occurred at approximately 5:07 p.m. near Bankard and Doe streets in Nogales, Border Patrol said in a statement posted to their Facebook page shortly before 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
