ROSWELL, ALPHARETTA AND SANDY SPRINGS, GA - (May 26, 2021) – The Georgia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (GACVB) honored Visit Roswell, Awesome Alpharetta and Visit Sandy Springs with a Travelblazer Award for their collaboration to create the Topside Tap Trail, a craft brewery trail comprised of seven breweries located in the cities of Roswell, Alpharetta and Sandy Springs, Ga. The award was announced at the GACVB Annual Conference Luncheon held on May 18, 2021 in Savannah, Ga.

SANDY SPRINGS COUNCIL APPROVES INTERGOVERMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH FULTON COUNTY SCHOOLS FOR SHARED USE OF TENNIS AND PICKLEBALL COURTS AT RIDGEVIEW CHARTER MIDDLE SCHOOL
During its May 4, 2021 meeting, the Sandy Springs City Council approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Fulton County Board of Education to fund the rehabilitation of four tennis courts at Ridgeview Charter Middle School. This IGA proposes a 50/50 cost share to renovate two tennis courts and convert two tennis courts to four dedicated pickleball courts. The agreement provides the City’s use of the property for 10 years. The courts will be maintained by the City’s Recreation and Parks staff, and will be available for public use during non-school hours and throughout the year when school is not in session.
This Mother’s Day, the City of Sandy Springs offers families a new event to celebrate the very special mom (or mother figure) in our younger residents’ lives. The City’s Recreation and Parks Department introduces the first Mother-Son Dance scheduled for Saturday, May 8, from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Terrace Level room in the Conference Center at City Springs. The event will feature dancing, games, snacks, refreshments, and door prizes. Each boy will also receive a souvenir photo and goody bag.
