More COASTER service makes commutes easie

OCEANSIDE — The North County Transit District (NCTD) Board of Directors has approved an increase in the frequency of COASTER rail service beginning in October 2021. The approval, which followed input from the public during a series of public meetings and open houses, will add new weekday and weekend trips to the COASTER schedule.

Survey of San Diego diesel prices reveals $1.10 savings at cheapest station

(SAN DIEGO, CA) The price of diesel varies by as much as $1.10 in the greater San Diego area, according to a recent price survey. The title of cheapest station in the San Diego area went to MCX Autoport at 3800 Belleau Woods Ave, according to a Tuesday survey by GasBuddy. Diesel was listed there at just $3.69 per gallon. The most expensive station in the city was $4.79, at Valero at 2499 Pacific Hwy, the survey found:

Board members of the Dorland Mountain Arts Colony, having overcome the devastation of a major fire through their oak-covered home in the foothills of Wine Country, are now seeking help to repair a major roadway leading to the colony. The artists who utilize Dorland Mountain Arts Colony have pointed out that Marthe Minkler Way leading to the colony’s rental cabins and work auditorium, is deteriorating, according to Board member Steven Forry, Ph.D. “Given the artistic legacy and metaphoric importance of these great roads, for the artists and friends who come to Dorland, there’s only one important road: Martha Minkler Way, that quarter-mile, 10-percent grade up from Highway 79 and into the awaiting tranquility of the Dorland cottages is in need of up to $28,000 to repave the only.

(SAN DIEGO, CA) Depending on where you fill up in San Diego, you could be saving up to $1.44 per gallon on gas. According to a survey by GasBuddy, Costco at 650 Gateway Center Dr was the cheapest station in the area, with regular listed at $3.95 per gallon at the pumps Wednesday. That was compared to Shell at 900 Orange Ave, where a gallon of regular was selling for $5.39.

La Jolla traffic board approves concept for landscaping and roundabouts on stretch of Nautilus Street

The La Jolla Traffic & Transportation Board voted to approve a concept designed to beautify and improve safety along a portion of Nautilus Street. La Jolla resident and architect Trace Wilson brought the idea to the board at last month’s meeting as a discussion item, presenting ideas to improve the state of Nautilus between Fay Avenue and Muirlands Drive. Wilson is a member of Vision La Jolla, an ad-hoc committee of the La Jolla Community Planning Association.
