Video Shows California Police Officer Save Driver From Burning Car

A San Jose police officer on Sunday rescued an unconscious man from a burning car on Highway 101, officials said. Video taken from inside a responding San Jose fire truck showed rookie Officer Pedro Garcia run up to the burning car and drag the man out of the driver's seat. The man was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries, officials said.

Palo Alto murder suspect walks out of jail after plea bargain

A Palo Alto woman, who has been in jail for five years awaiting trial for stabbing her sister-in-law to death, has accepted a plea bargain and been freed from custody. Jingyan Jin, 46, pleaded guilty on Wednesday to involuntary manslaughter, which has a maximum four-year sentence, and was given credit for time served.
