YPSILANTI, MI – Ypsilanti police are investigating shots fired from a moving vehicle outside a home early Monday morning. Police were called Monday afternoon, Aug. 8, for a report of shots fire in the 200 block of Elm Street early in the morning, according to the Ypsilanti Police Department.

Brad Anthony Maranian, 40, Toledo, was indicted Aug. 3 by a Wood County grand jury for failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony.

TECUMSEH, MI - Tecumseh Public Schools has hired Morenci Area Schools principal Kimberly Irish as its new high school principal. Jaylen Walker of Maumee expects the coming school year to be the worst ever because he feels that school gets more challenging academically every year. On Wednesday, the 11-year-old Gateway Middle School sixth grader said he felt “a little better” about going back to school.  “I’ve got my book supplies and my hot dog. I enjoyed everything here,” young Walker said, adding that he has about 14 more vacation days.
