A friend and colleague who lives in the Bay Area in California called and said that she would be coming to Salt Lake City (where I live) the next day. She said her husband had emergency surgery at the University of Utah Hospital. She did not say why. I picked her up at the airport the next evening and took her to the hospital.

They are a very small percentage of the population, but they make their presence known by being civically minded and engaged. They promote their heritage as well as their citizenship in the United States.
Beautiful leaves of Autumn(Image is author's) The Autumn season is a time of beauty as the Fall colors arrive in all their splendor to change the landscape of the world. The cooler weather brings comfortable days and evenings. They are signals that winter is on its way. For areas like Utah which experience the four seasons, the snow will be arriving before long or has already arrived.

Their fruits and vegetables are fresh and delicious. Fresh corn from a produce stand(Image is author's) While it is true that you can find some very good fruits and vegetables in grocery stores in Utah, you can generally find produce that is fresher at produce stands around town or at Farmer's Markets which are usually held on weekends. They are at various locations throughout Salt Lake City.
State Street Entrance to Chinatown Area(Image is author's) When my wife and I moved to Virginia so I could work in Washington, D.C. some years ago, we left our home in the Salt Lake City area. There was no Chinatown here then. The Japan Town which had existed from the early to mid 1900s was disbanded when the Salt Palace Convention Center was built. There were some Asian stores and restaurants in the city, but they were not localized in a certain area.
So between my walkthrough last night, and today, the price has been reduced to 3.1MM, that's a 250K reduction within the last 24 hours. This home embodies everything that the perfect home should have, from the quality of the finishes, how the space is used, the distribution of every room, the location, essentially everything in the inside, and also the outside - the .61 acre and how it has been landscaped. The potential underground basketball court, indoor soccer field, nightclub, rock climbing wall, skatepark, dance room, or a massive mancave (Batcave), was definitely the main standout for me. Beautifully made home gym with a view, both of the Salt Lake valley, and overseeing the great open space below. This fully remodeled property with the dark woods, combined with the textured ceilings & walls, made this custom made home literally outshine other Draper homes that I've visited. The master bath was another major stand out for me, with the domed ceiling and use of gold/marble.
It appears to be a tragic case of being in the wrong place. University of Utah Stadium(Image is author's) The University of Utah football stadium is visible from my home in Salt Lake City, and I am interested in the games played there. When the stadium lights are on, I can see them. I don't personally attend many of their games, but I have close family members who are huge University of Utah fans. They have attended almost all the home football games for many years. They were saddened at the death of a University of Utah football player recently. Now a suspect has been arrested.
The Empire by Holmes Homes is the perfect starter home....in fact, it's also perfect for retirement, in the event that a downgrade is necessary. And since we're on that, it's also ideal for relocation, in the event that the buyer wants to own, but does not want too much property. Located in Cascade Village in Daybreak, you're literally up the street to the upcoming Watercourse. This 3 bedroom 3 bathroom townhome offers plenty of natural light, and despite the small size (to some), it definitely is simple but beautiful. I really like the kitchen/dining/living room space - it uses space very well. The other stand out for me was the walk-out patio on the second floor overseeing the Wasatch Front. This 1,400+ sq ft move-in ready floor plan has a list price of 430K.
Once again in beautiful Daybreak, yes Daybreak...again. Sorry, but not sorry. You really have to check out this area of the Salt Lake valley if you visit Utah. Now, if you're thinking about Utah for your next investment, you are definitely not the only one. Utah has an exceptional real estate market that encompasses the great outdoors, a growing tech industry, low cost of living, and so much more. Now, South Jordan's Daybreak has received a lot of interest because of its unique take on planned developments...hence becoming the hottest one in the nation. As you may have noticed, I do a lot of videos on this area, and it's not only because of people's interest on it, but because simply, I love it. This particular home - The Copperton by David Weekley Homes - wowed me from the moment I set foot inside....where do I sign? I would buy this home in an instant. With a base price in the high 600s, you can expect that price tag to rise a little after upgrades, and options - 800s.
Daybreak's Cascade Village is quickly becoming one of my favorite areas...not only will it have everything else that Daybreak has to offer, but The Watercourse will also be available to its residents. Now, David Weekley Homes always delivers with gorgeous and high quality product. The Mammoth is yet another floor plan that is beautiful, and perfectly designed. I love high ceilings, wood flooring, and open areas, and the main level living space checks off every single one. This rambler also comes with a descent size basement, perfect for movie night, game night, or hosting family sleep overs. Once you enter the home, you have a fun flex space to your right, with this model home adorned with a uniquely cool wallpaper. Now, whether you use it as an office, a greeting space, music room, etc. It will definitely beautify your home.
Chinese dragon at the Solidarity Walk(Image is author's) An Asian American Solidarity 5K Walk was held in Salt Lake City, Utah, at Sugar House Park on Sunday, October 3, 2021. People gathered at 8:00 am to hear welcoming remarks by some community leaders before starting the walk.
Priced in the high 700s, this floor plan has so much potential. You don't necessarily have to go all out on options and upgrades, for this home to be beautiful. The WOW factor for me was definitely the living room, kitchen, and dining combo...but mainly the cathedral ceiling in the living room....I mean WOW, can you imagine decorating for the holidays or change in season? And as I mentioned, the dining room with the generous amount of windows, and abundant natural light. This particular home is just down the street from the upcoming Watercourse, so lakeside living galore if you become a resident of this gorgeous neighborhood (Cascade Village). I also do want to mention how picturesque the views are from this property. You have the Wasatch Front to the east, the Oquirrh Mountains to the west, and prime views of the Watercourse. Now, I know what you're going to say, "Yeah, but that's a view unique to this model home because how it's situated" - true, but so do the other homes.

The road at City Creek Canyon(Image is author's) The road in the photo above is at City Creek Canyon where cars travel when they turn right after going west at the end of 11th Avenue in Salt Lake City, Utah. The driver who crashed must not have been familiar with the road to not know that 11th Avenue would end. The car went through a guardrail and down the canyon.

The drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon(Image is author's) A favorite activity in the Fall for many residents of Utah is to take a drive to see the Autumn leaves of yellow, orange, and red. There are many beautiful canyon areas which are a short drive from most people living in Utah. There are several canyons close to Salt Lake City which are very accessible and beautiful now that Fall has arrived.
