New Buc-ee's bond approved

A new bond resolution had to be approved Tuesday by the Golden Isles Development Authority for a planned Buc-ee’s travel plaza in Brunswick. The $30 million resolution approved at the November meeting was for the estimate of the tax value, not construction costs, which are estimated between $50 million and $60 million, said Ryan Moore, the authority’s president and CEO. The November estimate was mistakenly sent to the authority.

Finding a long-term solution for Brunswick is going to involve getting people into stable employment, finding them new housing and treating their medical needs.

Homicide investigation underway after man’s body found in Brunswick

Camden County Seeking Applicants for Public Service Authority Board

The Camden County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified applicants to serve on the Camden County Public Service Authority (PSA) Board. The PSA Board is comprised of nine (9) members appointed by the Board of Commissioners, and the Cities of Kingsland, St. Marys, and Woodbine. The members shall include the elected official or appointee of the City of Kingsland, the City of St. Marys, and the City of Woodbine and the elected official or appointee for Camden County. Each city council shall appoint one resident from their respective city to serve on the PSA Board and the county board of commissioners shall appoint two residents of the county to serve on the PSA Board.
